At Ocean Dream Luxury Beach House there is nothing between the sun porch and the ocean beach, but soft green grass and a short path through the natural vegetation and dunes.
This newly built (2014) cape-cod style home is the third iteration of the Ocean Dream Luxury Beach House. So thoughtfully and completely appointed - the house offers easy and comfortable vacation living! The air-conditioned kitchen, dining and living rooms are combined into a 34'x21' living space with cathedral ceilings that opens onto the sunken - oceanside - sun porch through 2 sets of double French doors. All of the furnishings were selected for both their aesthetic and comfortable natures. Over time, unique island antiques, paintings and objects from regarded island artists have been carefully selected to enhance the Ocean Dream experience.
The abundance of large windows and doors makes the living space bright and offers the fresh ocean breeze throughout. From almost every area in the home, the ocean can be seen and heard. The thermostatically controlled fireplace makes the home warm and cozy on cooler nights and adds ambiance at any other time of the day. There's a 60" TV with DVD, surround audio and iPhone dock to complete the living area. Forgot to bring a book? We've got some - do enjoy!
Indoors and out join at Ocean Dream where the screened sun porch - with vaulted ceilings - spans the front. One side is given over to a 10' barn-board table big enough for 12 - where breakfast, lunch and dinner under a Casablanca ceiling fan can be enjoyed without the company of bugs. The other side is devoted to padded wicker furniture for reading, listening to music through the porch speakers, gazing at the ocean, the stars, the hummingbirds, hawks or eagles - YES, eagles!
The completely equipped and well-furnished kitchen includes all the essentials, along with a dishwasher, garbage disposal and microwave. There's service for 12 in case of company, lots of extra glassware and a lobster pot - everything that makes a house a home. The large window above the sink frames a beautiful outdoor scene and basks the kitchen in natural light.
Two bedrooms offer privacy on each side of the central living area - a large master (queen) bedroom and second bedroom with twin beds on the west side and a large master (queen) bedroom and a second bedroom/office with a twin bed and twin trundle bed on the east side - all 4 bedrooms have air-conditioning and satellite TV. The bedrooms on each wing are separated by a spacious bathroom. Each bathroom has a double-sink vanity with end-to-end mirrors and a 42" shower stall with a high removable rainfall head.
Ocean Dream is complete with a covered porch, Adirondack chairs, beach chairs, beach toys, a sand volley-ball/badminton court, regulation horse-shoe pit and BBQ. The home provides satellite TV, DVD, wireless internet, linens, towels, beach towels, washer/dryer and a fully equipped kitchen.
The feeling of peaceful seclusion at Ocean Dream is heightened by the tall firs that shelter it from the road and from other homes along the shore. It's surrounded by 7 acres of flowering natural vegetation and its height above the shore affords unobstructed views of sunrise, sunset and a long stretch of beach in either direction.
Located on the north shore, Ocean Dream is just 40 minutes from Charlottetown. Greenwich National Park and its amazing dunes are a 5 minute drive and some of the island's finest golf courses are no more than 20 minutes away. Also, five minutes away is picturesque St. Peter's Bay Village. There you'll find a small grocery/convenience store, a seafood shop and several restaurants; one with gourmet fare! The village has its own live theater and many excellent craft shops. The home stretch of the confederation bike trail passes through and bike rentals are available.
Please note: Cellular service is strongest at the top of the driveway. Reception inside the cottage does not yield many bars!
