| Ocean Dream Beach House is a truly
treasured summer home in the fact that access to the
white sandy beach is safe (no cliffs) and directly off the property
grounds.
Designed to make for easy and comfortable living,
the kitchen, dining and living room are combined into a 30'x30'
area
with a
14' high
pine
ceiling.
The furnishings
were selected to please
the eye, but also to invite you to put your feet up. Over time,
unique island antiques, paintings
and objects from well regarded island artists have been added.
The abundance of French windows makes the living area bright and
offers the fresh ocean breeze throughout. From almost every area
in the home, the ocean can be seen and heard, presenting truly
breathtaking views. At night, privacy is assured by décor
window shades (black-outs in the bedrooms). The thermostatically
controlled fireplace makes the home warm and cozy on cooler nights
while also adding ambiance. Comfy couch, big easy chairs with ottomans,
rocking chairs - it’s all good!
There’s a large plasma screen with HDTV satellite programming,
VCR/DVD all tucked away in an armoire. Forgot
to bring a book? We’ve got some. Satellite music choices
not enough? Play our CDs. Chess, cards, games for old and young
kids are all in place, as are binoculars, a putting matt and a
metal detector - for our beachcombing friends.
The completely equipped kitchen includes all
the essentials, along with a dishwasher, garbage disposal and microwave
- everything that makes a house a home.
The two master bedrooms have high coffered ceilings and
two windows looking out on the ocean. Each has a queen bed,
pillow-top mattress,
armoire, chest and a chair. These bedrooms also boast in-wall
and very quiet air conditioners. The
third
bedroom
has twin beds (easily converted to a King bed with King feather
mattress), pillow-top mattresses, armoire and chair. The fourth
bedroom accommodates
sleeping quarters
and
office
space
with a
double bed and work centre
(high speed satellite connection, printer/fax/scanner).
Indoors
and out join on the home’s oceanside,
where a completely screened deck with 10' wood ceilings
spans the entire
front. One side is given over to al fresco dining while the other
is devoted to comfort lounging to read, listen
to music through
the deck speakers, gaze at the ocean or the stars or the hummingbirds,
hawks and eagles – yes, eagles.
Walk a few steps over the lush lawn to the dune’s edge where
Chesapeake chairs await your contemplation of the ocean and its
sea life. The large lawn provides an area for sunning and games,
including horseshoes and badminton.
And finally, the large capacity hot water heater is big enough
to allow all the baths to be used at once, with the dishwasher
thrown in for
good measure. The water is filtered to remove sediment and purified
by ultraviolet. Hair dryer? Yes. Giant plush bath towels? Of
course. And separate beach towels...Your memories are waiting!
