The
Three Mermaids cottage is located at the much-loved ‘Cousins
Shore’ and has a beautiful white sand beach in plain sight
and easy walking distance (less than 4 minutes). The very island-minded – air
conditioned -barn style home acts as the perfect casual setting
for your family to unwind, slow the pace and truly immerse yourselves
in the ‘island way of life’.
The cathedral wall of
windows in the main room frames the bright sky-beach-blue water
ART that you are able to enjoy from every
angle. The kitchen is well-equipped and ready for passionate cooks
and hungry guests. It is also extremely well-situated to allow
the kitchen-dwellers to easily communicate with fellow vacationers
in other areas of the cottage. The combined living-dining room
area is water-side, spacious and comfortable. Exactly what is required
when relaxing is a top priority. Four bedrooms and an additional
bunk house comfortably sleep 12 people in beds (see bed configuration
below). There is one full bath on the main level, a ¾ bathroom
upstairs (toilet, sink & shower) and a ½ bath in the
bunk house (toilet & sink).
The outdoor shower is a must in
helping to keep sand on the outside OR to connect on a whole new
level with your natural surroundings.
The main deck wraps the entire water-side of the cottage and acts
as an expansive outdoor living area – complete with deck
chairs. A popular option with the kids is the screen porch dining
area - complete with picnic table. It has all the fun of eating
outside without having to swat away the occasional fly.
Amenities
include a BBQ, bonfire pit (wood), full washer/dryer, dishwasher,
flat-screen television, satellite, DVD player, stereo,
telephone and high-speed internet. On the main level there are
two bedrooms, each with a queen bed. The second level also has
two bedrooms, one with a queen bed and one with two sets of bunk
beds. The bunk house also has a queen bed and television for the
kids to watch a movie or play their video games. The bunk house
has a DVD player, but no satellite.
The Three Mermaids is just 10 minutes from Kensington where you
will find grocery stores, liquor store, pharmacy, Tim Horton’s,
gas, the famous ‘Frosty Treat’ dairy bar and restaurants.
Summerside and Cavendish are also short distances away. The Three
Mermaids rents from Saturday to Saturday during our peak season.
